June 2004
The TCE Coyote won the first round of the CHCA schedule a few weeks back, setting a new course record along the way.(
www.chcaracing.com) While always fun, the car also helps focus on new product ideas and put them into service. The revised motor for the 2004 season sees this car adding about 6-7mph to the straights hitting 110mph.
Some revised suspension, changes in weight distribution and engine tuning has made the car not only faster but more reliable. With two days of Pikes Peak testing on June 3&4 as well as one more CHCA event on the 4&5th this car should be pretty well shaken down for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb on June 26th. If you are in the Colorado Springs area the week of the 20-26th send an email and maybe you can join us for some early morning practice.
I’m often asked how Wilwood products hold up with many of them not having ‘booted’ calipers. I’m happy to say that the calipers on the race car are the same as day one. These calipers see more dirt and abuse than most folks would see in a life time. The rears may be replaced soon after four seasons due to the amount of rock damages they have sustained being mounted ‘outboard’ in the wheel. Still, they function now as well as when they were new.
Thanks everyone!
