TCE is often asked; "Will your brake kit clear my wheels?"
The answer is not always so easy.... While most TCE kits are intended to fit stock or factory wheels some do not. And others may fit the stock wheel and not the after market. This is due to the wheel design, not just the offset. Diameter is important with regard to kit diameter: 12.2" kits require 16+ wheels, 13" kits 17+, 14" kits 18+ and 16" kits 20s or larger. Often the issue becomes the rotor width and caliper choice. Calipers which are much wider than stock will compromise spoke clearance. And if paired with wider rotors as well- things get tight in a hurry. Below you will find a way to measure your wheels for brake kit clearance. The picture will help you with the measurements.
Remove a wheel and place it on the floor or bench face down. Place a flat edge onto the hub face of the wheel. (Represented by the upper line 'A') From this flat plane measure down into the back of the spoke with a steel ruler or similar tool. (Represented by the lower line 'A') This will need to be verified at a radius of 4" (Represented by 'B') up to a radius of 7" for 13" kits, 7.75" for 14" kits and 8.5" for 16" kits (represented by 'C'). This is the clearance you have for your caliper. You will need roughly .100 or 2mm minimum air gap to the spoke for safety. Also with varying caliper options available some kits may have more than one choice offering great clearance than others.
Scroll down the "Wheel Clearance Chart" and find your vehicle. From there the kit you're interested in and then the caliper of choice if there are options. You'll note that there are some differences in the BSL6n when fit to .81 rotors or 1.10 rotors. This is due to having pad spacers on place to fit the narrow six to the .81 rotor on center.
